You Capture: Holiday Favorites!

In the midst of feverishly editing Bethany's senior pictures from this fall... (yes, I'm behind.. :P)... I HAD to do You Capture's holiday favorites post.

But could I decide on just one picture? Ohhh, no. No one could possibly have just ONE holiday favorite? 

I finally decided on these four... :)

Grandma's cookies are a huge tradition at Christmas time... she makes the best sugar cookies EVER! Here there are, ready to be iced and decorated! Yum!

We had a WHITE CHRISTMAS this year! See my post yesterday for tons and tons of other snow photos like this one... I think I'll always remember this Christmas because of God's amazing Christmas present.

And of course,  watching my little sisters open Christmas presents is priceless. Their excited faces are so adorable! :)

And of course... the Disney Christmas tree is a classic. Definitely my favorite Christmas tree EVER!

Let it Snow!

As I've mentioned in previous posts... we had a white Christmas this year! And not just a half-inch powdery snow that doesn't pack. Ohh, no. We got at least 4 inches of gloriously wet snow, perfect for packing, perfect for a snowman, perfect for sledding, perfect for making snowballs.... :)


And of course, I went nuts with Edgar, and took a million and a half pictures. I'll only show you a few of them, though. It might overload otherwise ;)
(Note: Yes, I have named my camera. Edgar Osborne Schmidt, thank you very much. Yes, I know I am weird. But do I care? Not one bit.)

Touch-Up Tuesday: Emily's Ready for Christmas!

I LOVE this picture of my 7-year-old sister, Emily... taken on the morning of Christmas Eve. We always do Christmas on my dad's side of the family on the 24th, so Emmy's quite excited :)


However. My editing? Mm... I have the sneaking suspicion that I over-edited this picture... I have a tendency to do that. But no one ever TELLS ME..... so I am left to wonder on my own whether a picture is over or under edited.


So. Constructive criticism is MORE THAN WELCOMED.... Tell me whats wrong with my photos and how to fix it! :)

Photoshop Elements 9, to be exact. :) I haven't done too much experimenting.... well, I take that back. LOTS of experimenting. ZERO photos fully edited ;)

Yay! First blog post! Exciting.

Well, I'll tell you a little bit about me.

I love photography, but you've probably guessed that much, since this is a photoblog ;) 

I'm a junior in high school.

 I am a dancer.

I am a 2nd degree black belt in karate.

I play the piano.

Math is my favorite subject in school.

I use about 3-4 free photo editing programs to make up for my lack of Photoshop.

I have the best unbiological sister and brother that ANYONE could ever ask for.

I love my computer and iTouch and phone.

My Canon EOS Rebel XS has a name. Edgar Osborne Schmidt. He's my baby :)

This is Jenna Burgess... [that unbiological sister I mentioned ;) ]. She is absolutely gorgeous, takes amazing pictures, is a fantastic dancer... I could go on and on, but I'll spare you. :)

I love sunrise photos... except the whole, "getting up early" thing. The photo was worth it, though :)

Bethany is a senior this year, and is a fantabulous cello player.

I like flowers, just a warning. ;)
